Manoli Canoli is an authentic tratoria just inside the beltway. Until recently, it was literally a mom and pop operation. The father, retired carabiniere, worked the front and mom did the cooking. Recently, the daughter took over the family business, redecorated and added some Greek dishes to the menu. Fortunately, for us she had a long apprenticeship under her folks and the kitchen is as good as ever. The fare is the usual; salads, pizza, pasta, meat entrees, subs and sandwiches – all good and generous. Pasta melanzane, eggplant parmigiana and pizza putanesca are always on my shortlist. Manoli Canoli also features a small deli, a kids menu and adult beverages. Plenty of parking out back.
